York Town

Our last stop on our fun trip in Virginia was York Town, completing our tour of the Historic Triangle of Colonial Virginia. The Seige at Yorktown, led by General George Washington, proved to be the last major land battle of the American Revolutionary War.

We visited the Yorktown Victory Center living history museum, where we experienced the American Revolution firsthand through film, galleries, and re-creations of a Revolution-era farm and a Continental Army encampment. We interacted with several costumed historical interpreters that explained what life was like during the Revolutionary war through demonstrations and fun explanations.

The three different stages of cotton.

I am so happy and grateful the Burtons invited me on this fun family trip, it was so fun seeing such important locations in our nation's history as well as such a wonderful experience to strengthen the bonds with my nephews, sister and brother in law. We created so many happy memories that I will cherish forever, and that we will laugh about and smile at for years to come. Thanks so much for the fun times Burton Family!

  1. love that rooster picture! The lighting on his brilliant feathers was perfect. Looks like you learned a lot about life in those times. Don't you feel blessed with all the light and inventions God has poured down on us to make our life more safe and comfortable?
