The Pacific Coast Highway

After our time in Monterey and Carmel, we began the long drive down to Santa Barbra.  Most of our drive was spent on the beautiful Pacific Coast Highway.  The day started out pretty dark and overcast, but we ended up with a gorgeous sun filled day!

After a few hours of driving, we took a break to take a walk and stretch our legs.  We stopped at a gorgeous little wooded area and took a stroll among some red woods.  Below is the pinecone full of the seeds that these huge trees come from.  I was blown away by how small it is!

One part of the PCH is well known for being covered with sealions and seals.  There must have been hundreds of them out on the beach, warming themselves in the sun.
