Cannon Beach

To break up the drive from Astoria to Yachats we made a couple of fun stops along the way.  Our first stop was at Cannon Beach, one of my favorite spots along the Orgeon coast.  When my family visited Oregon a few years ago we stayed at the wonderful Stephanie Inn that is directly on the beach!  This time we just made a quick stop to play on the beach and take some pictures with haystack rock in the background.

Karin had asked Bethy to take their family picture while we were all in Oregon, and they figured Cannon Beach would be the perfect spot.  Here are some of the beautiful pictures Bethy took of the Burton family.  All five of those boys are going to be heart breakers when they hit high school, they are all so handsome!

Bethy and I had to snap a few as well

I took a couple of candids while they were all being good for bethy, I love Will in this picture, that cheesy little smile is adorable.

After pictures the boys were excited to play in the sand and the waves

After the beach we drove into the charming town of Cannon Beach.  We went to Sweet Basil's Cafe for lunch, it was really good!  All the food was organic so it was fresh and healthy, I got a pulled pork sandwich that was delicious.  I also got a lavander soda that was extrememly refreshing and gluten free organic brownie for dessert.

Our second stop was at the Tillamook Cheese Factory.  We took the self guided tour and learned all about how cheese is made.  Then we hurried down to the gift shop to get some famous, creamy Tillamook ice cream.  It was amazingly rich and smooth, I got a caramel toffee crunch that was divine.

Then we continued our drive to Yachats to check into our little beach cottage.
